Fashion collection “Tredici”
Collection “Tredici” was produced for the Italian fashion competition “Mittelmoda”.
The Logo
The logo, intentionally designed to resemble the number thirteen, inspired the name
Tredici—the Italian word for “thirteen.” The choice of an Italian name reflects the
country’s long-standing association with luxury fashion, craftsmanship, and timeless
design, reinforcing the identity of the brand.
Inspiration Collages
Tredici was born from an unusually personal source of inspiration.
The collection’s
storyline, colour palette, logo, and nearly half of the garment designs first appeared
in a dream experienced by the collection’s creator, Glapito. This dream became the
foundation for an exploration of symbolism, identity, and the unknown.
The primary inspiration stems from the concepts of lucid dreaming and astral
projection, particularly the idea of consciously seeking another person within a
dream state. This interest was further developed through research into the CIA’s
declassified document The Gateway Process, which investigates altered states of
consciousness.
Water functions as an additional symbolic element throughout the collection,
representing the transitional state between the physical body and the soul during
astral projection. Rather than serving as a literal motif, it acts as a visual metaphor
for movement between realities. This symbolism is reflected through recurring fish
motifs incorporated into selected garments, seashell-inspired bracelet details, and
the prominent use of water within the promotional film for Tredici, where it reinforces
the collection’s narrative of crossing the boundary between the conscious and
subconscious worlds.
As a result, several accessories subtly reference the aesthetic of intelligence and
reconnaissance: a Como silk scarf styled as a necktie, an earring resembling a
communication earpiece, gloves, structured outerwear, and functional details that
suggest the appearance of a modern secret agent adapted for contemporary
summer wear.
The collection also draws inspiration from Leonardo da Vinci, whose balance of
precision, symbolism, and innovation has long been a personal influence. His ability
to combine artistic beauty with intellectual depth informed the collection’s clean
silhouettes, restrained composition, and symbolic visual language.
Colour Palette
The colour palette follows the emotional progression of the narrative.
The story begins in black, representing uncertainty and the unknown, gradually evolving into
brighter and more expressive tones as understanding develops. The journey
concludes with red and bronze—colours symbolizing both revelation and caution,
acknowledging that the world of lucid dreaming and astral projection remains largely
unexplored and potentially unpredictable.
Material Selection
Material selection reflects both sustainability and European craftsmanship. The
collection combines premium European textiles with reclaimed materials to
demonstrate that luxury and responsible design can coexist. Garments are primarily
constructed using Italian garment-weight linen, selected for its breathability,
durability, and timeless character, complemented by luxurious Como silk for scarves
and accent details. Italian vegetable-tanned leather is incorporated into bags and
selected garment components, while high-quality European cotton provides comfort,
structure, and versatility where required.
The Collection
The Tredici collection consists of five looks that collectively communicate the
progression of the narrative through colour, symbolism, and silhouette. While each
outfit functions as an independent design, together they form a coherent visual story
that reflects the collection’s conceptual identity.
First Outfit: ” Tyler. “
Tyler is a contemporary menswear ensemble designed to introduce the narrative of
the Tredici collection by embodying the role of a messenger. The look combines
relaxed tailoring, functional accessories, and symbolic detailing, translating themes
of secrecy, communication, and exploration into a minimalist summer silhouette.
Second Outfit: ” Palundra. “
Palundra is a contemporary unisex ensemble that represents the transition from
concealment to discovery within the Tredici narrative. Inspired by the concept of
blending into one’s surroundings while carrying hidden meaning, the look combines
relaxed proportions, subtle symbolism, and sustainable materials. Functional
accessories and restrained detailing reinforce the collection’s themes of mystery,
observation, and personal interpretation.
Third Outfit: ” Answers. “
Answers is a contemporary unisex ensemble that represents the moment of
revelation within the Tredici narrative. The look symbolizes the search for hidden
knowledge, encouraging the viewer to interpret the collection’s recurring symbols
rather than presenting direct explanations. Combining layered textiles, handcrafted
details, and sustainable materials, the ensemble reflects the balance between
mystery, craftsmanship, and contemporary luxury.
Fourth Outfit: ” The Dream. “
The Dream is a contemporary womenswear ensemble that represents the moment in
which the narrative enters the lucid dream itself. The look reflects the transition
between reality and the subconscious through a clean, architectural silhouette, vivid
colour palette, and symbolic detailing. Functional minimalism is combined with
sustainable craftsmanship to create a garment that appears both mysterious and
purposeful.
Fifth Outfit: ” Go To Sleep. “
Go To Sleep is a contemporary unisex ensemble that symbolizes the conscious
decision to enter the dream world. Positioned at the threshold between reality and
the subconscious, the look combines relaxed tailoring, symbolic detailing, and
sustainable craftsmanship. The warm bronze colour palette reflects the collection’s
final stage, where understanding is accompanied by caution, while the clean
silhouette maintains the minimalist identity of the Tredici collection.
